Description

The object in this image was carved on a large flake of limestone and is what’s known as a trial piece – made by a master sculptor as an example for other sculptors to follow. This trial piece is unusual in that there’s another carving on the other side, you can see that in another print in this series : Votive relief of a wild dog’s head, 360-246 B.C.
